Saturday Spolight: Rob Sacchetto and #ZombiePortraits

I’ve been a fan of Rob Sacchetto of for quite some time. I had the pleasure of finally meeting him at Horror-Rama and can’t wait until I have a picture I can send him to get a portrait done! Make sure you check out his work and if you’re interested in a portrait, his rates are reasonable – book now before he gets too busy during the holiday season!

Rob also posts a piece of Zombie art everyday on – just click on the Zombie Daily link at the top. I’ve seen his latest one floating around the internet and can’t wait until he does the whole family!

Saturday Spotlight: Community and Zombies

Two of my favourite shows are The Walking Dead and Community. Admittedly I am a few seasons behind on Community, but I know I will catch up.

So what happens when the title sequence one of the funniest shows on television gets a bit of a makeover by a fan?

Spotlight Saturday: The Walking Dead’s Return

Okay you Zombieholics! The Walking Dead returned last week and I would love to hear all of your thoughts on the episode…

**If you haven’t watched the episode, stop reading now**

Personally, I enjoyed the chance to delve into Michonne’s character a little deeper and learn some of her background. It makes many of her choices and her motivation much of the time a little easier to understand. And I loved that you could see her story arc come full circle.

The Rick and Carl story line was still good, but its what we see from them most of the time. Rick asserting his rule as the father and Carl rebelling against it. I will admit there were a few moments I thought Rick might have died from his injuries, until I remembered that he’s likely one of the only characters that is ‘hands off’. Now Carl on the other hand, I don’t think I would have been so upset had he been bitten… Though it would make it crazy for Rick to have woken up and not found Carl in the house!! Imagine him trying to search the neighbourhood for him, only to find his consumed body, or better yet, his little walking undead corpse. (All thoughts aside, I don’t dislike Carl, but his attitude really sucks sometimes! I hope what he had to go through—almost losing his dad and being completely alone—gives him a little maturity and a lot more perspective!)

Head on over to AMC to take a look at the sneak peek for the next episode!

Spotlight Saturday: Eddie Rotten’s FrequenZ: Alpha

Eddie Rotten’s FrequenZ: Alpha by William Howser

FrequenZ_FrontCover_FinalThey came from the sky…

Loud pulses of sound that changed the world in a fraction of a second. At first, no one, especially Eddie Rotten, knew what caused them, but everyone was there to witness the startling results.

As the birds fell from the skies and the dead rose, Eddie and his family fought for survival against the unknown forces that had shifted the equilibrium of society. Had the government developed a radical new method of population control? Why did the news outlets remain dark on the issue?

Conspiracy theories flourish as Eddie, along with his family and the newly formed Zombie Fight Clubs, fight to right the moral order and shed light on the most heinous cover-up in human history.

Decide for yourself what is real and what isn’t…

Spotlight Saturday: Days with the Undead

**I’m going to launch into a little shameless self-promotion here because I rarely ever do it!**

In addition to running this site, I have another zombie site I started a very long time ago. It’s called Days with the Undead and it started as a way to share my fiction with the world. The site grew as the story I was telling took on a life of its own and I’m very proud of what I accomplished. I’ve stopped posting the saga online but I’ve continued with the site, posting features and articles I thought my zombie loving fans would enjoy. Currently, I post 5 days a week:

Sunday: The 5 Questions Interview Series

Monday: Random Monday Mini (where you’ll get free flash fiction from me based on a random word)

Wednesday: How to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse (tips, new tools, alternative uses for products)

Friday: Zombie Film Fridays

Saturday: Spotlight Saturday – Where anything in the genre is fair game for discussion

The saga that encompasses Days with the Undead is certainly not over and I certainly haven’t forgotten it. Book One has been released already and Books Two and Three will hopefully be released before the end of this year. Most of the content is written – it still exists on the site, but I’ve gone back in and expanded the things I didn’t have time to when I was writing it (I would write what was posted on the day it was meant to be posted—an insane schedule, but I loved it!). There’s even going to be more books in the series, all with material that’s never been seen before. It excites me because it’s a world I created and a world I can control.

So if you’re interested in any of the features listed above, stop by and check them out. And if you’d like to check out the first book in the Days with the Undead series, you can find it on Amazon, Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Apple and CreateSpace.
